I figured I'd post a little progress report on the AGLS translation, since I haven't really said anything about this since I first announced it on /m/ a couple of months ago. Today I finally managed to translate all the way to the end of one route (which took a little over five thousand lines, by the way). This doesn't exactly mean I'm close to finishing it though, since now I have to backtrack on the game's choices in order to translate the other two routes, one of which is a lot longer than the other two. Then I have to test every possible choice combination in the game to make sure I didn't miss anything and that my translation can follow any playthrough, and finally check the whole thing to fix whatever errors and typos and stuff I might have made. It's difficult to estimate how long all this will take, I guess a few more weeks? Dunno. Though at least I'm done with the largest part of it.
If there's anyone out there actually waiting for my translation, you might want to go ahead and get the game and make sure you can run it, I hear a lot of people have trouble getting it to work for some reason. I will not be providing a download to the game itself, just the translation, so don't ask me for it.

Thanks for the update.
ReplyDeleteAwesome. I look forward to the finished project. Once that's done, I'll handle the rest. Many thanks for your contribution to the Yuri Nation.
ReplyDeleteI believe there might be a way to extract the text from the game without having to actually play through the game to plow through all the dialogue/narrative. AXYPB is known to be good with those sort of tools. http://axypbworld.wordpress.com/
